Injuries

It's been two weeks since I have started my training. I have decided I couldn't go on like this so I had to lose weight, become fitter, better and more powerful.
The training itself is going ok, not very good but not bad either.
In two weeks time I've managed to:
-brake two finger nails (one left, one right) and one toe nail.
-pull three times the same leg muscle.
-torn muscles (both left and right legs).
-small damages to my right shoulder (and that strange mark that appears when used too much).
-annoying pain at my second and third metatarsal bones from my right foot.
-tired left knee.

However, I feel just fine. Apart from the torn muscles that kept me from optimal training and the sometimes annoying pain from the right foot.
What I regret is that I had 3 maybe 4 days when I ate too much and slowed me down. But now I have a full week to recover what I gained and be better and better.
It's true that I have some problems concentrating... problems related to personal life which should not interfere but they somehow do...and I get mad because of it.
Thank the Lord for the music.

Lots of data

Now this is one news that caught my attention easily and I think it's worth putting it here.
Here it goes:
"Microsoft added 22TB of imagery to Virtual Earth in April, 69.2TB in May, and 20TB in June, meaning that July's release is the smallest in recent months. This month the company has uploaded only 14.3TB of imagery to its mapping platform. [...] To check out the changes, head over to maps.live.com, choose 3D, and install the latest Virtual Earth 3D (Beta) software. "

Now that is what I call a "huge amount of data".

- spatele arata de parca cineva tocmai a intrat in el.

Cheile Gradistei

Last night we all decided it was time to see some parts of this...country. So, we've decided to go to Cheile Gradistei because we've heard it's a nice and beautiful place to go. With no maps armed we went to Brasov for some small shopping at Carrefour and others. After that, ask a bunch of people for directions. Only the 5th person we asked knew about the place and managed to give us the information we were looking for.
Anyway, we arrived there, i took a couple of photos, we ate and gone back home.

Impressions?
-the place itself was magnificent.
-the roads were a mess. The passengers weren't confortable because of the holes in the road, and the driver couldn't admire the splendid scenery because the road was too narrow and had to be extra carefull.
-there were about 12 houses there where people could eat, drink, sleep and have a little fun. Also, a nice hill that I decided to climb to admire the view. However, that was a very bad call because there were all kinds of smells and mess and crap.
-the food at the restaurant was ok. not bad but was not anything special. however the place itself was very nice because it had an inside water-mill.
-oh. a nice little bonus -> a cow crossing the road right in front of us and bus stops in turns.

That sums it up.

Running + Music == Nike+

OK. I'll start right of with an example.
Tuesday morning, 9 am on the beach. Started running x meters nearby the sea. Returned. Got tired.

Wednesday morning, 9, 9.30 am on the beach. Started playing some music on my iPod. Started running y meters nearby the sea. Returned. Got tired.

Conclusion?
Simple: y = 2*x. (y equal two times x).
This means I ran twice the distance listening to music while running.

I tried it again, here at the mountains and it really works. And those Nike+ shoes are AMAZING. They are the best running shoes I have ever had. Period. As soon as I have enough money, I will buy a new one, as well as a Nike SportBand. I was hoping that they would make the Nike+ armband and all available for touch too, not just nano but guess not.

Either way, Nike should really keep doing this and offer more and more options. The apparel is quite low now, and the models aren't really quite appealing. But the shoes are awesome and the technology is useful.

Water in Spain

To my little surprise, the water situation is the same as in each other developed, western country. People care about it and try to conserve it.
However, things here were even more drastic. For example, on a local tv station, during the break commercial, you could view perhaps 15 different commercials each taking about 10 seconds. Maybe less! But, after all of them, there was one 'commercial', an official one, from the government, explaining to everybody not to consume too much water and conserve it as much as possible. This one lasted for 60 seconds, if not even more.

Another thing regarding water there: it is not so "hard" as ours. Let me explain myself. You go to the bathroom, you use the water, wash yourself wish some soap (it doesn't matter which one), and clean yourself. After you clean, you get that strange feeling that all the soap is still there. But it isn't. It's just the water, different from the one in our country. My mother said that, here at home, every time she washes her hands, she then uses some moisturizing cream. After using this "spanish" water, she doesn't need the cream anymore.

And this is great not only for our skin and hair, but also for bathroom appliances and washing machines which don't loose their glow or break so often.

Back from Spain

It's been a great holiday albeit short.
This year we decided to go to Spain, for the second time but in a different place, to the seaside.
And, of course, it was very nice. The hotel was huge and had tons of facilities and services, the small city was full of life, organized an clean. The beach was, again, huge and the sand terrific but the sea was quite cold.
We were approximately 20 km away from Malaga, which of course we visited along with Gibraltar and Granada. I really enjoyed the monkeys from Gibraltar and the gardens from Granada.
We took a lot of pictures and also filmed some scenes.

As for me, although I gained weight because I ate like a big at the hotel :), I played beach volley, water volley, football, table tennis. mini-golf and in the morning when the sun was rising a little running along the sea. These were perfect moments. The first time I did this I managed to collect my thoughts and clear some things up. In the others days I didn't do that, but I listened to my iPod and manager to run twice the normal distance.

The only downside was the fact that the prices were similar or bigger than here. A bottle of Powerade was 2.40 euro and a Bacardi 3.00 euro. And I'm not talking bar prices!

One extraordinary thing that happened and which I won't be forgetting soon was that in Gibraltar, every bus that came in the city had to, literally, pass THROUGH the airport's landing pit.

Well, that's it in very few words. Some pictures probably on hi5.
Cheers,

Spain is the Queen

Well well. It seems that my favorite team won the EURO 2008. I am very glad they did, they deserved it.

In the first 5 to 10 minutes of the game I was disappointed in them. Everybody looked so scared and did foolish mistakes ( see Sergio Ramos and Puyol, or the 1-on-1 with Torres in the beginning of the match ). But they got the game under control and played the way they know best. Lots of passing, lots of movement.

Although, in the end there was only one goal, scored by Torres, it was a pleasure to see the match.

With this game I can also conclude the final stats with my bettings on this championship.
Number of games played: 20; Number of games won: 14 Winning percentage: 70%.
